World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.

Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. In some cases this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also reroll the stats of the base. While this is usually an excellent thing however, it could have negative consequences too. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may make them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.
Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their performance. This can increase the defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These will boost their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reduce its value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats it will gain when upgrading, as well as the relative values of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make the world of difference to your survival. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you can get from every point of health you have, so it's important to improve your armor as much as you can.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and in order to unlock them all, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds and then you can talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example, the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold environments, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing the protection needed to survive a full on raid with a handful of friends.
Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to concentrate on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle as well as the Monter Parts merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that let you stealthy battle some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the participant, produce a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be earned by making them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades is dependent on the type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level as well as its rarity.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll give you when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.
When a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade until you take it out again or break the bottle in the container it is kept. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the way potions are used. For instance the splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item). The potion table is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. item upgrading allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. item upgrade are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. item upgrader to using a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed using dragon breath and splash potions. In the same way, a lingering potion effect can be extended by adding redstone. The table of potion ingredients is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket can be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important such as a Thimble. In certain cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. As with other upgrades to items trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
The upgrade of a trinket can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing an entirely new one. It can be done by players for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as previous one, and will have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
When the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other gear items that they won't replace soon (for example, a ring or cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.
When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
